Thanksgiving 2011

This all American holiday deserve's an all American outfit. Denim on denim. My favorite!!

Happy Tofurky Day!!!

Ok ok, so maybe im the only vegetarian in the world who doesnt eat tofu, but it sounded better than turkey. OK! So today is a day all about  giving thanks, and i have a list of things/people i am so thankful for. First and foremost, my friends and family - my family who has dealt with a lot of shit from me, but still loved me unconditionally, put up with all my stupid decisions and helped me get through them, financially or not. My friends whom i have known for 12+ years now, im glad to say they we have been able to stick it out this long, and i cant wait to see what the next 12 years brings. The 2nd thing i am thankful for is the troops serving overseas right now - i am thankful for them because they sacrificed spending the holidays with their families so they could protect and serve our country. I am thankful for fashion and makeup of course, without which i would not be able to express myself and we would all just blend in. I am thankful for those who protest their rights and stand up for all the little people, big shout out to them, because if it weren't for them, we little people would just get run over by all those big mean money hungry heathens. I am lastly thankful for the people who read my blog and watch my youtube videos, at times they may seem jumbled and not make much sense, but you may get a little entertainment out of it nonetheless. I hope you all have a fabulous and family fun Thanksgiving, go easy on the turkey, ya gotta save room for all that pie! Now if youll excuse me, there is some green bean casserole with my name on it!

Love, Peace, and Veggie's..

LORAC Haul - Hautelook

I just received my package from Hautelook.com, and was super excited to dip my finger and swatch some of these awesome eye shadow palettes i bought!

First is: Lorac Naked Lace Set.
It came in a sexy little black lace pouch and inside was: a pinky blush - Rendezvous, a taupe-y brown eyeshadow - Boudoir, an off-white eye shadow - Negligee, and 3 mini lip gloss - Trend Setter, Muse, and Vintage.
The eye shadow and blush DO have some shimmer in them, but not enough to where it will look too shiny.  The lip gloss's are small but pigmented enough to where they will last you longer than you would expect. They are a nice neutral set that go great with my style.
Retail Price: $28. MY price: $16

(left to right) Negligee, Boudoir, Rendezvous

(left to right) Muse, Trendsetter, Vintage

Multiplex 3D Eye Shadow Palette:

6 set eye shadow palette complete with a muted shimmery gold color, a SUPER shimmery darker gold, A chameleon purple/green shadow, a shimmer ultra silver, a shimmery royal blue, and a shimmery black.
This palette is definitely made for a night out on the town. The colors POP so well! My favorite is by far the chameleon green/purple color! And how great is the packaging? LOVE IT!
Retail Price: $38. ---MY Price: $12

The swatches were swatched in reverse of the above picture.

Baked Tantaleyes Palette and Bronzer:
Comes in a gorgeous golden box and has 4 shimmery "Fall insprired" eye shadows inside. A pearly white, a rusty orange/brown, a deep olive green, and a purple cranberry color.
The Tantalizer body bronzer is a highly pigmented, shimmery body bronzer. I personally would use it on my face as a contour to add some color and shimmer to my cheeks.
Retail Price: $36 ---- MY Price: $14

Swatches were swatched in reverse of the above photo.
I used about the size of my pinky nail and even that was too
much to swatch. A little will go a long way if used on your cheeks.

Evening Out Complexion Kit: Light

A great little compact concealer kit. Comes with a large mirror, a light setting pressed powder. A puff pad and a small brush, and 2 concealer shades. The mirrored packaging is very nice as well. The only down side of that is that it shows finger prints easily.
Retail Price: $38 ---- My Price: $10

Pink Diamond Eye/Lip liner.

This is the one product i am disappointed in. When i first looked at it, i realized how much glitter was in the product. I thought it was going to be a basic pink lip color, but sadly, it was not. Also, as i was swatching it on the back of my hand, i noticed it wasn't very pigmented and i had a hard time getting it to show up. Im not sure if i want to be digging at my eye lid trying to get the color to show.
Retail Price: $18 ---- My Price: $3

All eye shadows shown here are HIGHLY pigmented and velvet-y soft to the touch. Now even though their sale price is more than I'd like to spend on an item, i think they are worth it because of how great the color pay off is. I highly recommend this brand to anyone, just steer clear of their eye/lip liner.
Shipping: Took about a week 1/2 to receive after purchase date.

Foundation Obsession

For years I have always bought one foundation and used it for a year or 2 before moving onto a new brand/shade. Its just always worked out that the color i bought (i thought) matched me perfectly. I never thought to maybe branch out and try different types of foundations to see if maybe there was something better for me out there. As you can see, I have collected quite a few foundations over the past...I'd say year. I have had many trial and errors and probably spent more money than i should have if i just went to a professional and just had them assist me, but of course, im stubborn.
So going in order i will list each foundation and what my thoughts are on it.

(From left to right)

1. Rimmel Lasting Finish - 100 Ivory - I only bought this because i had a $1 off coupon for Rimmel products and i wanted to try it out. Not a fan at all, to me it sets cakey. COST: around $6
2. ELF flawless finish - Almond - Bought this online and it is wayyyy too dark for my skin tone, so i didn't even bother trying it on to see how it looks. COST: Around $6
3. ELF Flawless Finish - Caramel - Round 2 of buying another shade online and i failed, again still too dark!
4. NARS Sheer Glow - Tahoe - Another online purchase and huge FAIL! Way to yellow and dark for my skin tone, so again i didn't bother using it. COST: Around $40. Total waste of money, i wish i would have bought it in the store and got the right color.
5. Revlon Beyond Natural - Medium/Deep - Bought this because it was marked down to $3 at CVS. I cant resist a bargain, its a bit too dark for my skin tone but it matches perfectly when i mix it with the Light/Medium. I find that it blends really well when you apply it with your finger tips as if it were a tinted moisturizer. It is not a full coverage, its more so to just throw on your face when you want to run out of the house, but still have some coverage and evenness.
6. Revlon Beyond Natural - Light/Medium - A bit too light for my skin tone, but matches perfectly when i mix it with the Medium/Deep. (same feedback as above)
7. Too Faced Amazing Face - Warm Vanilla - Another online purchase that i actually got lucky on. Its close enough to my skin tone and doesn't have any strong pink undertones in it. I'd say its a pretty neutral foundation. It can be built up to a nice full coverage, and when my skin gets a little more tan, i like mixing it with a darker shade i own. I do use this foundation quite a bit now that i have lost some of my tan. COST: I think this was somewhere in the $25-$30 range.
8. Revlon Photo Ready - Medium Beige - Im a huge fan of Revlon products, I never have a bad experience with their foundations, unless i get the wrong shade. They have most been compared to department store brands as well. I LOVE the fact that this one has a pump, there is no worse feeling than a pump-less foundation jar spilling out more product than you need. The downfall of this particular foundation is their shade range is very small. COST: $11-$12
9. Revlon Photo Ready - Shell - Same review as above.
10. Neutrogena Healthy Skin - Nude - This is in my top 2 favorite drug store brand foundations that i have come across so far. They are the closest to my skin tone, their shade range is pretty decent, and the price is also good. I bought this one when it was on sale for $9, and then had a $2 coupon so i got it for $7. Not bad for this amazing foundation!
11. Neutrogena Healthy Skin - Fresh Beige - Again, same review as above, I like mixing this shade with the lighter shade i have to make a close color match to my skin. It blends well, doesnt look cakey. Has a more natural look to it. Regularly priced at $11.
12. Revlon Colorstay - Rich Tan - This is the color i would use when i have my tan. This foundation has been known to be a good drugstore dupe for MAC foundations. Their shade range is pretty decent and they also have formula's for oily and dry skin types. This foundation retails for about $9, so not bad at all for it being compared to MAC. This is also in my top 2 favorite drugstore foundations.
13. Revlon Colorstay - Medium Beige - Again, same review as above. This is just closer to my skin tone now.

Scent of the Week 11/7/11

This week im burning some good ol' Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. Now after lighting this candle and letting it burn for a bit, i was surprised that it was as strong as i thought it would be. I guess i expected it to smell like a cinnamon factory in my bedroom. But alas it does not, and im ok with that. Its more of a subtle cinnamon smell, and to me, i feel like i barely smell a pumpkin scent, which is ok as well since i feel like all i have been burning for the past month is pumpkin harvest scents. Im trying to burn through my more Fall-ish scents so i can go ahead and stock up on wintery scents which im actually excited about. Unfortunately, we dont get a white winter wonderland here in South Florida, so the closest thing i can get is to burn some sort of wintery candle. Wahhhhh

MAIL: Dolly Wink - Bare Mineral Primer

Mr. Mailman dropped me off some goodies today - Dolly Wink Liquid Liner and the Bare Mineral Eye Shadow Primer. I have only ever heard good things about the dolly wink liquid liner, so of course i had to check it out for myself. First off, the packaging is ADORABLE as you can see from the picture below. The liner itself comes in a very petite pink polka dot "pen" shape and has a brush tip (even though it looks like a felt tip). I swatched one stroke below so you can see how dark it goes on.I love that even though it has a brush tip applicator, it is still firm like it was a felt tip. Brush tip applicators have made me nervous in the past with how flimsy they can be. It will be great for winging your eyeliner out or if you just want to get a really precise line across the top of your lashes. I will personally only use it to flick out the wing of my liner seeing as i prefer a much thicker line going across the top of my lashes, and thats much easier to accomplish with a gel liner/brush seeing as i dont have that steady of a hand.
Color: Deep Black
Price: $20 on Amazon.com (that includes shipping cost)
Shipping: I ordered it on October 31, I received it on November 7 (Shipped from Cali)

I also received the Bare Mineral Prime Time Eyelid Primer. I was in the market for a different eye primer, even though i do love my Too Faced and my Urban Decay primers, i wanted to venture out and try something new. I have heard really great reviews for this product and was excited to get my hands on it. Upon opening the box, i was a bit disappointed to see how tiny it was, but then again you only need the tiniest bit on your lids. The formula squeezes out thick and has a semi nude-ish pink-ish color to it, but blends out clear. I will have to give an update after i have had a chance to test it out for a week or so.

Price: $18 on Amazon.com (that includes shipping cost)
Size: 0.1 oz
Shipping: I ordered it on October 31 and i received it on November 7

Snozberry's

Not exactly sure what a "snozberry" is, but i would imagine it contains these 3 colors. I absolutely adore this green blazer, i thrifted it about a year ago and fell in love with the color and how perfectly it fits me. The yellow top was also thrifted and is made of sheer material, so i dont get too hot down here in FL. The jeans are my Paige and are one of the rare designer jeans that actually fit me the way i like! The heels are from Amazon.com and actually quite easy to walk in.

Revlon Nail Polish Swatch's

I recently purchased these 3 Revlon nail polish's on a whim. I have never purchased nail polish from Revlon before, but these colors grabbed my attention while on a Target trip.

First is: Facets of Fuchsia - which is a black nail polish with bits of multi-sized fuchsia glitter. After applying the first coat, i was actually disappointed, the black painted on very sheer and of course the fuchsia glitter was minimal, but after applying the 2nd coat, i was very pleased - the black darkened up and the glitter packed on a little more. I decided not to do a 3rd coat, but i would imagine it would turn jet black with even MORE glitter! This nail polish makes me want to go party at a Ke$ha concert ASAP.

Second is: Steel-her Heart - which is an architectural steel gray. Reminds me of the lead in a pencil when you write on a piece of paper. Ahhh middle school. I was pleased with just the first coat, but after applying a 2nd coat, the color, of course, got even more intense. This color makes me want to throw on my leather jacket and head to an underground club.

Lastly is: Silver Screen - which is a text book silver color. Not too light, not too dark. Even after applying the 2nd coat, it was still that perfect silver color. Very futuristic.

Here are all 3 colors lined up.

Target Finds - 11/2/11

Since its now a couple days after Halloween, i wanted to go to my Target to see what kinda of sales they had on their Halloween stuff. The only 2 things i found that i liked was this adorable pumpkin coffee mug for $2.49 and a bag of Reese's peanut butter cups for $1.49.
Of course, as always, i had to go to the sample section where i grabbed some Target brand makeup remover wipes for 99 cents - these wipes are awesome to just throw in your bag when you go outta town. I also grabbed a deal on some Cocoa Butter Vaseline lotion - it was the large 20 ounce bottle, plus i got a 10 ounce bottle attached on the back for a total of $4.99. I really love this lotion, even though it may not smell as good as my Bath and Body Works or Bodycology, i find that it quenches my dry legs so much more.

In the beauty section i grabbed an NYC blush ($3.49), 3 gorgeous Revlon nail polishes ($3.74 each) that i have heard many youtubers rave about (BTW these are my first ever Revlon nail polish purchase!) and then i got stuck on which shade of Revlon Color Stay foundation ($9.99) would be best for me. This is my top 2 favorite foundation ever and has been known to be a dupe for MAC foundation - but i always seem to get the wrong shade. So literally after 20 mins of staring at each color, i went with the Fresh Beiege...so we will see how that works out for me.

I def think i am foundation'd out for now. I have been buying WAY too many. ::sigh::
