Scent of the Week 10/31/11

Haha ok so this may not be the scent anyone would think to choose for Halloween, but this is what I've been burning the past couple nights. Its the Lavender Macaroon scented candle from Bath and Body Works. This little candle smells so delicious, my stomach growls every time i walk into my bedroom. I have never had the pleasure of eating an actual macaroon let alone be near one to smell it, so i couldn't tell you if this smells true to its name. What i can tell you is that it smells very sweet, not like a sugar cookie kind of sweet, but like a gourmet sweetness. I can also smell a hint of lavender in it, but the macaroon smell definitely over-powers that with sugary delight!

1.6 ounce candle - SALE - 3 for $5.00

Target Finds - 10/31/11

Happy Halloween!!!! The weather has been sooo crappy here in Florida, that I cant really do much, but i decided to get outta the house for a little bit and hit up my local Target. I had a large stack of Target printable coupons in hand and i was ready to go. First and foremost i always go to the $1 section...while browsing i picked up a really cute teal face mask, which will definitely come in handy. I also picked up a cute little sticky note pad which is also a necessity when i need constant reminders to get things done in a timely manner. Next i went to the holy land...a.k.a the makeup/beauty section - I had some coupons for certain beauty products and made sure to browse those sections first. I picked up some Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation...never tried it, but it is an inexpensive brand and i had a $1 off coupon - i bought it in the shade 100 Ivory. I also had a $1 off coupon for NYC so i picked up their black liquid liner - again another inexpensive brand...I have never tried this particular brand of liquid liner before, but so far i like it (wearing it now :) ). Lastly the Neutrogena section was having a sale on their liquid foundation!! I literally almost shit my pants, because i use/loooove their liquid foundation. It was marked down from $11.99 to $9.99, but get this.....I also had a $2 off coupon!!!! SCORE! Now i just bought one not too long ago, but HELLO! why wouldnt i buy it when its on sale? I actually ended up getting it in 40 Nude which is a lighter shade than i normally use, but as Fall is here, im going to start losing my tan. I wanted to also pick up a Fall scented candle, so i decided to go with this pine tree sceneted one that smells amazing! It was $10 too which to me is a bit expensive, buttttttt it has 2 wicks in it, and in my experience a candle smells so much stronger when it has 2 wicks. P.S - I also have this same scent in a Walmart candle i bought for $5, but you cant smell it at all when its lit.....know why?....it only has 1 wick. heheheheh.
I also picked up some other random items on this trip, but none worth bragging about.

Price (After coupons):
Neutrogena foundation - $7.99
Rimmel foundation - $5.49
NYC liquid liner - $1.74

Foxy Locks Hair Extensions REVIEW

YAY! I am the proud owner of a deluxe set of Foxy Locks clip in extensions!

Shipping: Really fast considering they are coming from the U.K. I ordered them on October 18th and received them on October 24.

Packaging: They come in a sturdy plastic case along with a pink paper slip that explains all the information you need on how to care for your extensions.

I bought the deluxe 20 inch set in the color "toffee brown". They weigh about 160 grams I believe which is a nice  good weight for them, you really dont want to buy extensions unless they are close to that in weight.
They feel really nice to the touch and are made of 100% remy human hair, which means that you can treat them like your own hair: dye them, cut them, curl or even straighten.
They will need to be washed once every few weeks (take them out of your head before doing so. HAHA).
The one thing i was concerned with was the color match. They do have aTON of colors to choose from, but my hair is not one solid color - i have natural highlights and the ends of my hair are a dark blonde since I dyed them - but to help with that, i emailed them a picture of my hair and they tried to match me as best as they could.
Now if you have two toned hair like i do, i suggest buying a lighter color, maybe even buy them in blonde since its much easier to dye blonde hair than it is to dye dark extensions, lighter.

All in all, i think they are worth the money.

Price: $144 (that included my shipping)

LUSH Colour Supplement

I FINALLY received my LUSH package yesterday, woo hoo! I placed an order online to try out their Colour Supplement, A.K.A foundation. They only had a few shade choices to pick from, so I randomly went with the "light pink". I placed the order on October 17, and received it on October 25, so their shippng isnt TOO bad. I opened my box and ripped through all the packing papers, and came across two samples of their facial scrubs which i did not expect to receive, but i was delighted anyways...i love free samples. When i got to the colour supplement, i was kinda let down when i saw how pink the formula was, i honestly didnt think anyone had skin this pink or remotely like it. I scooped a little onto the back of my hand and began applying it with a foundation brush....you DEF. do not need a lot of product as it spreads around very easily, and wasnt that pink when it actually got on my skin. BUT it does take a LOT of working into the skin to get it all too blend. Sadly this is not a full coverage foundation, and thats what i need.

Packaging: comes in a glass tub, but to be safe and not contaminate the product with germs, I'd use some sort of device to scoop it out onto the back of your hand as opposed to just sticking your finger/brush directly into the jar.
Soo the con's of this product are: Not many shades to choose from, strong undertones of whatever shade you choose, Shipping was decent, Takes a lot of working in to get it to blend.

Pro's: Well.....the only pro of this product i can think of is if you want a light coverage, than this will be great for you.

All in all, i would not buy it again.

Price: $15

OOTD (Outfit of the day) 10/21/11

Ahhh i am LOVING this cold front we are having here in Florida! It feels so good outside, so i decided to dress appropriately. Nothing screams crisp, cool Fall weather like a plaid button down top and a scarf. I decided to pair it with denim shorts so i can still have some room to breath, and not worry about getting too hot if the weather does change. On my feeties, im wearing my navy blue knockoff Tory Burch flats that i have mentioned in a previous post. These bad boys are awesome to walk around in, their jelly material molds to the shape of my foot, hugging them in all the right places.

Top: Thrifted
Shorts: Hollister
Scarf: Forever 21
Shoes: Tory Burch- knockoff's

Scent of the Week

Im starting a new "scent of the week" series. Basically, I love candles, and I love the warm and comfortable feeling that they can bring to any room. Every night i make sure i light my little scented candle and enjoy the delicious scent it gives off. I recently purchased a large amount of the 1 ounce candles from Bath and Body Works (they were having a 3 for $5 sale). The smells literally make my mouth water. So with that being said, im just gonna debut each candle that I have lit for each week (yes, these little candles can last quite a while).
This week is: Pumpkin Caramel Latte.
Perfect for the incoming Fall weather and the Halloween spirit. The caramel scent definitely over-powers the scent of pumpkin, but thats fine with me since i looooove caramel. When these candles are lit, they do smell slightly differently, but NOT in a bad way.
I highly suggest you pick some up..they are inexpensive, potent, come in a variety of scents, and last a decent while.
Price: I got them on sale, so they were 3 for $5.

OCC Lip Tar's!

Ahhhhh i finally have my hands on some of the ever popular OCC Lip Tar's! For those of you who have never heard of OCC or even lip tar's for that matter, then here is a quick background: OCC stands for Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic's...Lip Tar's are basically highly pigmented lip color. They are NOT made from tar.
The lip tar's have become such a popular item in any youtube beauty guru's makeup collection that they are taking over quickly! Im a little late in the game, but am happy to say that i finally own some! I bought 3 from their online website:http://www.occmakeup.com/ . They can be a bit pricey but they are totally worth it...a little goes a long way. All you need is the tiniest little drop on your finger/brush and it will blend but still maintain its high quality pigmentation. They come in 36 different shades. On top of that, they are 100% VEGAN! Yippee! Im am almost positive that their online website is the only place you can purchase the lip tar's...that is if you want an authentic one. I mistakenly bought a "lip tar" off ebay for about the same price and was sent a phony! You can tell by the packaging as well as the formula and the way it goes on. Total fake!

Pictured below is: (from left to right): Femme, Grandma, Interlace, and THE FAKE! (you can tell its fake because it does not have "100% Vegan printed on the front")

Price for 1 lip tar: $13.00

Bio-Oil

Today i received my first ever bottle of Bio-Oil. I have heard many great things about it and the wonders it can do for stretch marks and skin discoloration. Being that i suffer from mild rosacea (redness on your cheeks), I decided to give it a try. Im going to use it tonight and see if there are any improvements over the next couple weeks. I will keep you guys posted!
Cost: about $9 for a 2 ounce bottle.

Thrift Store Finds 10/20/11

Today i was feeling a little risky and went to TWO different Goodwill's. OooOOOOo scandalous!
The first one was my usual GW, and i surprisingly walked away with 2 tops and of course 2 more books to add to my collection (they STILL didnt change their sale tag colors!). The 2nd GW I went to has a much better selection, but i dont go to it as often due to the fact that it's about 25 mins away. I ended up doing WORK there! I walked away with 3 cardigans, 6 tops, 6 record LP's, and 1 book.
My total for the day: about $30 for everything.
Not too shabby, I'll give myself a pat on the back for that one.

Thrift Store Finds 10/19/2011

This evening I ventured off to my local Goodwill. As I was walking around I noticed that everything had pretty much been picked over, which can only mean that they are about to change their sale tag color. For those who dont know what im talking about: Goodwill will have a sign by the front door letting you know which color tags will be on sale that day. At mine its usually 50% off this color of you can get this color for a $1.29. Each item in the store is marked with a color tag and thats how you will know how much each item costs or if its on sale. If its full price (aka not the sale tag color of the day) than that usually means that it will end up costing less than $7. Thats pretty much the most expensive a clothing item can cost at my Goodwill.
Anywayyyys my Goodwill usually has the same sale tag color for up to a week until they basically got rid of the majority of that color, soooo tonight i was happy that they are going to change the color, but i was sad that i wasnt finding anything i wanted on sale. On the bright side, i did head towards the book section and found the Twilight and New Moon paperback books for 79 cents!!! YAY! I havent had the chance to read any of the Twilight books before, so im excited to see how the books differ from the movies.

Real Technique's Makeup Brushes

Oh how i love the ladies of Pixiwoo. If you have not checked out their beauty youtube channel, YOU MUST! They are seriously so talented and gorgeous. I first came across them at the beginning of this year and i instantly subscribed to their channel after watching the first video. Now it wasn't too long ago that Sam (of pixiwoo) came out with her very own line of makeup brushes. Not only are the brushes affordable and sold in ULTA, but they are vegan! I highly suggest that you buy the starter kit first which comes with a blush brush, crease brush (which i use to apply my concealer), and a small foundation brush. All the essentials you need for an everyday makeup look.
There are also brushes sold separately such as: a stippling brush, a large powder brush, and an angled foundation brush. The starter kit, I believe, was somewhere in the $17 range, and the individual brushes, i believe, range in the $7-$9 range. So as you can see, very affordable for those of us who are on a budget but want good quality brushes. Anywho, here is my collection so far, and I couldnt be more pleased. :)
If you're interested, check out your local ULTA or ULTA.com!

Tory Burch Knockoff's??

I randomly got a craving one day to search some Tory Burch flats. Of course when I found a pair I liked, they had to be well over $100. I knew this before I began my search, but sometimes you can find a good sale, especially on Amazon.com. My search didnt end there, I hit up my ever faithful eBay and came across a pair of Tory Burch flat's in the "jelly" form (literally the same rubbery material you remember from those old school Jellies sandals you used to wear in middle school). I was happy to find out that they were $60! Now i became suspicious of their authenticity not only because of their major discount, but the fact that they were being shipped from China! After a little research, i found no authentic Tory Burch flats that came in the "jelly" form, so I came to my grand conclusion that these were knockoff's. Buttttt I bought them anyways because they were exactly what i wanted, plus they would be super easy to clean if they ever got dirty.
After a whole month of waiting, yes it took a month for them to reach me. I ripped them out of their colorful box and slipped them on, OMG they fit like an effing glove! My only complaint is that the part that goes over the top of your toes, bothered me a bit, but that was a quick fix by sticking a heel pad on the underside of the "shoe hood", I'll call it.
All in all, i highly recommend them, IF you can handle waiting a month for them to arrive. : /
Oh and i bought them a half size smaller than I normally would buy flats in. Oh and BTW they are navy blue, NOT black.
Hope this helps!
